Ali & Hobie's Engagement Session

Ali and Hobie, what a beautiful couple! We were able to take their engagement photos last year and now are only 56 days away from their wedding! I’m so excited! Their engagement session turned out so beautiful. We walked around the horseshoe and football stadium. I’m so glad to be able to add to their memories at these places that are special to them.

I was fortunate to photograph Ali’s sister, Kayla, years ago. And now it’s Ali’s turn! I love this entire family. They’re such sweet people and are so much fun to work with. Enjoy my favorites below!

How did he propose?

At Ali's favorite place - her family's lake house on Lake Murray the Friday before Memorial Day.

Our friends were going to the beach for the weekend and Ali kept giving Hobie options throughout the week to go with our friends but he insisted on having a family lake weekend (Ali was OK with this, she just wanted Hobie to be happy :)). Ali's mom and sister just so happened to ask her if she wanted to go get her nails and toes done on Friday. The nail salons just reopened from COVID shutdown so she honestly did not think much of it. That day, Hobie was just picking up the ring and running around trying to get things together for a proposal (little did Ali know).

We finally got to the lake house that afternoon but Hobie would not answer the phone. He was meeting us at the house on his boat, but would not answer and she thought his phone died. When Hobie finally arrived (without talking to Ali for like 4 hours), with their Golden Retriever, Murphy, he yells "Hey Ali, look what I got Murphy". Murphy has a bandana around his neck that says "Will you marry my Dad?" We love this dog so much and it was so special including him on this special day.
